1907 $20 Gold St Gaudens High Relief Wire Edge PCGS MS65+ (CAC) EX. CORONET
$83,500.00
In our opinion, High Reliefs are the most awesome-looking coins ever minted. They look like they are sculpted from a block of gold. If only the Mint back in 1907 had the technology to make these coins more en masse. We treasure handling any High Relief (they don’t have to be a full GEM).
This coin really is VERY HIGH END. We loved it at first sight and placed it in the fabulous Coroent Gold Type set we built many years ago.
You can see the famous “deep dish” High Relief look from feet away. The surfaces are remarkably clean and smooth. We used a strong glass and found no minor issues anywhere. A strong luster illuminates the crisp original gold-colored surfaces. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are needle-sharp in strike, as you would expect. The eye appeal is awesome!
PCGS 318, NGC 108, CAC 41. PCGS has graded only 26 in MS65+. IMPORTANT: the published values are BEHIND the market. sightUNSEEN for an MS65 (NO +) is $70,000.00. Hard to believe, but there are none of these around—especially in true GEM. PCGS CAC At CSNS in late April, a CACG MS 66 WHOLESALED for $172,500.00. For sure these are one of the most popular coins in the world!
We cannot stress enough how this coin will be a highlight of any collection, group of coins, or even a box of 20! This coin offered here is a tremendous example of one of the greatest coins ever struck and a coin that is one of the most popular.
