We have seen far worse in higher holders. This coin, in our opinion, is SUPER HIGH END!
Only a few light and small bag marks keep this coin from a full MS 65 designation. You need a glass to see them as none stand out. In fact, the surfaces on this coin are way above average in terms of overall cleanliness, and originality. There are no spots, dirty toning, or discolorations. The color is a fresh original gold with pale orange gold highlights. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck and do have some frost. The eye appeal is more like a nice commoner date and is terrific!
PCGS 166, NGC 73, CAC 11. PCGS has graded 18 in MS64+. Somehow, the current Collectors Universe value is $30,000.00. Another nice example brought $31,200.00 in 2022. Do not think you are going to find a PCGS CAC MS65 anytime soon—CAC has beaned none! You have to jump to MS66-where a PCGS CAC example brought $204,000.00 in 2025!
