1911-D $2.50 Gold Indian PCGS MS65+ (CAC)

We have handled BOTH PCGS CAC MS65+ examples. This coin is equal to the other (which we placed with a collector at the ANA Show last year). The only better coin, the PCGS MS66+ CAC, is in the Half Domes Collection. If you seek a special 1911-D, this is it!

Superior surfaces are exceedingly clean and smooth. Even the dreaded right reverse field is clean and smooth. The color is a totally original GEM pale orange gold. There are no spots or discolorations anywhere. All details are sharply struck and actually stand out. The eye appeal is SUPERB!

PCGS 30, NGC 85, CAC 10. PCGS has graded only 2 in MS65+ (and we placed the other coin). We do know of an NGC MS65+ CAC that a collector owns. The other PCGS CAC coin brought $87,000.00 in a weak sale in 08/2024. The current Collector’s Universe value is $110,000.00. Once this coin is sold, you have little chance of buying another MS65+. The lone CAC MS 66 is in the Half Domes set (it’s a 66+ that sold for $312,000.00 at FUN this year).

This is the absolute finest $2.50 1911-D you can buy for a very long time. We cannot stress this enough! The coin truly has the quality and eye appeal to make it special.
