We’d guess that prior to 3rd party grading-many moos ago, this coin would have been called a GEM MS 65. It really does deserve the + and it really is VERY HIGH END!
Super original surfaces have some thick original “skin”. No question this coin has never been messed with. The surfaces are remarkably clean. There is a very good luster al over. Both sides have a thicker totally original deep gold color and light gold toning (hard to describe). There are no discolorations or spots. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and stand out. The eye appeal is beautiful!
PCGS 373, NGC 319, CAC 47. PCGS has graded 30 in MS64+. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell via auction brought $14,400.00 08/2022. The current Collectors Universe value is $15,000.00. An PCGS CAC MS65 today would cost at least $35,000.00-if you could find one! This coin will fit into a GEM et easily.
