1917-D 25C Quarter Standing Liberty, Type 1 PCGS MS67FH+ (CAC)
We could not believe our eyes when we first saw this MEGA MONSTER GODZILLA of a toner! We kept coming back to it. In the end, we decided we had to own it.
This has to be the second finest 1917D 25C graded by PCGS (Black Cat now owns the MS68 FH PCGS CAC). We doubt there is anything remotely similar-even the MS68 does not have colors any where near this. Both sides are flawless. You would look for hours and find NOTHING, not even the smallest problem. A full booming luster shows off the MONSTER ORIGINAL colors of violet/amber/green/blue/gold that swirl all over the surfaces. Mother Nature did an amazing job here. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. You do not need a glass to see the rivets in the shield. The eye appeal is mind boggling explosive!
PCGS 28, NGC 23, CAC 11. PCGS has graded 4 in MS67+. with just one coin finer. This coin is from the “Just Having Fun” collection that was sold at the ANA Sale by Bowers for a record $23,000.;00 in 2012. If you saw what GONZO money the less colored Simpsons coins brought 08/2021-you know we are not asking crazy money (a wild 17-D TY I PCGS MS66 FH CAC brought $40,800.00). OMG, had this coin been in that sale-who knows what it would have brought.
If you seek the ultimate colored Standing 25C, then look no further!
