This coin was bought by a very picky collector many years ago (over 20) as a GEM. We can see why. No question it is a near miss MS 65!
Overall, the surfaces are clean and smooth. Only when using a strong glass can you see a few light frost breaks and widely scattered ticks. There are some scattered speckles of toning-but the coin is white. The luster is intense all over. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are well struck. The eye appeal is super!
PCGS 2287, NGC 1116, CAC 375. PCGS has graded 167 in MS64+. We paid MORE than the published sheets for this exceptional VERY HIGH END coin! We never see them this lively anymore.
