We have had this SUPERB GEM sitting on our desk for a week now. We can’t decide if we should send it in our not, plus we just LOVE the coin and LOVE looking at it. The quality is VERY HIGH END!
It is very hard to find a non toned 1936 PR Merc. This coin has really deep and clear mirrors. Only when we put a strong glass to it could we find a stray line or two. It ahs a 67 look (we make NO promises). You do not even have to twirl the coin to see the mirrors “watery” like roll. The coin is untoned. It is our opinion, the reverse is cameo. Miss Liberty and every detail are needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is super!
PCGS 436, NGC 311, CAC 158. The last PCGS CAC example to sell via auction brought $2,520.00 01/2025. The price sheets have not caught up. This coin will make a stunning addition to any GEM set. It is housed in an old blue tag holder.
