1938 10C Dime Mercury PCGS PR68 (CAC) WOW! TYPETONE
$8,500.00
A marvelous SUPEB GEM from LRCA 12/22 sale. It realized $7,637.500 then. We rank the coin a SUPER HIGH END piece!
Here is the description:
Among the two dozen FINEST graded, only three are graded PR68+ finer at PCGS. This is a marvelous and beautifully toned SUPERB GEM.
A band of rainbow toning frames the left side of the obverse. Shades of red-orange, are suffused with magenta-rose and emerald. The colors really pop when the light hits the watery reflective silver surfaces. The toning takes on a “starburst” effect as it flows with the mirrors. The strike is extremely sharp and the eye appeal is sublime!
PCGS 27, NGC 57, CAC 7. One example sold in 2020, realizing $9,000 and did not have the stunning color of this marvelous specimen. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,000. Just three are graded higher at PCGS, all of which are PR68+ and the sole example to sell realized $22,800 in February 2020. This is a real prize for the collector who demands top quality and beautiful toning. Bidding will be intense
The mere fact that ONLY 7 have the CAC bean (says a lot. It is our strong opinion a coin like this si very UNDERrated in price.
