Only a minor planchet issue or two can be found. Overall, the surfaces appear clean. There are some clearly visible clashing marks as well (not a negative in any way). The wear is all light and is even. Clearly, this magnificent coin was carefully handled during its 227 year existence. There is a decent amount of gloss. We do not think this coin was brushed or oiled. A rich original brown mixes with hints of faded Mint red all over. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck with excellent detail showing. ALL LINES ARE ON THE HOLDER-NOT THE COIN. The eye appeal is great!

PCGS 12, NGC 2, CAC 4. The last PCGS CAC example (not this coin) to appear in auction brought $152,750.00 back in 01/2016. The current PCGS CAC value is $175,000.00. Save for the specimen, the last AU Chain Cent we handled was back in 2017. We do NOT see these offered at all any more.

This coin certainly will be an outstanding treasure and addition to any Type or advanced Large Cent Collection. The coolness factor of this coin is almost off the charts!
