1C 1793 CHAIN AMERICA PCGS AU55 GRAYSON COLLECTION
Talk about a SUPER choice AU Chain Cent-this is it! It has also been off the market in the great Grayson Collection since 2001. Talk about fresh! It drives us crazy thinking how a 225 year old coin like this can have such pristine surfaces. We looked really hard and used a strong glass and found ZERO impairments of any size. The surfaces do have a ever so slight glossy look. Do not: we believe (as does CAC) this coin is totally original and has NOT been messed with. Both sides are a wonderful chocolate brown color. Of course there are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details have every decent strikes. While her hair appears flat, it is the maximum allow to be still graded an AU55 (actually everything else about the coin is really AU58 quality). The eye appeal is still really nice! PCGS 12, NGC 3, CAC 3. The last one to sell in auction brought $152,750.00 01/2016-in a weaker auction). We can not say we have seen any in over 2 years (when some copper collections popped out). Most important, this is a PCGS CAC piece-good luck finding many others! This is a coin Legend Numismatics is proud to offer and seek a great home for.
