1C 1823/2 PCGS AU55 N-1 MERVIS

This happens to be a wonderful example of this extremely rare date. We do call it a VERY choice AU. To start, this coin is stuck on a very nice planchet. Marks, hits, scuffs are not issues of this piece. Only with a strong glass can you see a very tiny tick and a few super light lines. There is no real luster but the coin is not dull at all. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. You do NOT need a glass to see the over date. There is no discoloration where the light where is. Both sides are an even deeper chocolate brown The eye appeal is super nice! PCGS 2, NGC 3, CAC 2. PCGS has possibly graded 6-7 coins higher that is it. NO PCGS AU55 has ever been sold via auction. Due to lack of public sales, price guides are incorrect.  If you are a Large Cent Collector, this is a coin you really want to see in person. You will also really want to add this rarity to your collection!
