We’re thrilled to own this coin, a SUPERB Proof Large Cent that’s 178 years old. This is one of the great pieces of numismatics in our opinion. The quality is incredible (yeah, we’ll say that often as the PR Large Cents as mostly in that kind of condition)!

This coin proves that 178 years ago the Mint did make real Proofs. You can actually see the mirrors flash (they are really like a deep prooflike). The surfaces are definitely polished and smooth. There are no real impairments visible. Gorgeous pale ORIGINAL colors of chocolate brown/pale gold/green/deep blue/pale violet all are iridescent and can be easily seen. There are only one or two MICROSCOPIC toning dots-and NO bad spots anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do have light frost. The eye appeal is incredible

The rarity of this piece is undeniable. PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 2. PCGS has graded only ONE coin higher. Of this specific VARIETY, one other is known-an NGC PR63BN. That coin sold for $36,425.00 August 2014.

We LOVE Proof Large Cents. We ALWAYS are the people to beat in auction on them-and we try to buy every one we get offered. We strongly believe they are ALL GROSSLY undervalued. This coin especially. Just look at the tiny mintages. For this date (all varieties) there are maybe 5-6 KNOWN! WOW. These are RARER then an 1894S, an 1804 $1 and several other coins that sell for over $1 million dollars. We think a coin like this should easily be $75,000.00. When this coin is sold-you’re not going to see another one!!
