1C 1848 PCGS PR64+BN

Looks like the + machine was working too much the day this GEM was in for grading. We do not think its a +, we grade it PR65BN. We did have the other PR 65BN into compare it with-it sure was close. PCGS did see this coin again, and the result: still a PR64+BN! We surrender!

The obverse is completely chocolate crown while the reverse has 20% ORIGINAL Mint red scattered about. BOTH sides have remarkably clean, crystal clear, deep, and of course highly reflective mirrors. Using a strong glass, we find NO imperfections to keep this coin out of the full GEM class. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are pinpoint sharp in strike as they should be. The eye appeal is totally fabulous!

PCGS 1, NGC0, CAC 1. Here is a rare opportunity to own a coin RARER than the majority of classic rarities and you do not have to be a millionaire to do so! The statement mintage of this coin is 7-however experts (including ourselves-closet copper weenies) feel its more like 15-20 (which is still exceedingly rare). Legend just bought and sold the Holmes 1848 PCGS PR65BN via private sale. We had several requests for that coin from people who knew we had purchased it. So its not like these are unknown or goofy esoteric pieces. As we state in the upcoming 1849 description, with the great QUALITY and unquestioned RARITY these coins offer, they should be worth more-much more!
