Being the “secret copper weenies” we are, it is a worst kept secret we madly LOVE all Half Cent and Large cent Proofs. This particular “old friend” had to come home to us. We sold it to Gene Gardner back in 2011. We can not stress enough what out of this world quality and extreme rarity this piece possesses.

No question this coin is a full mirrored proof. The mirrors are like any you’d see on a silver coin from the 1890’s. The mirrors are deep, have amazing clarity, are clean, and are fully reflective. There are NO spots. A gorgeous and totally ORIGINAL color mix of pale MINT RED/gold/pale brown/pale violet/pale green colors all swirl over the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are so sharply struck they look carved out. The eye appeal is absolutely jaw dropping!

ONLY 20 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 4, NGC 1., CAC 1. Back in 2011 we paid $26,450.00 for this GEM out of the Holmes sale. We think a coin like this priced BELOW $50,000.00 is an out right steal. Think about itt, 166 years old, its copper, its totally ORIGINAL, it is in tip top condition, it is extremely rare, etc. What more could you want? If this was struck in silver, it would be worth $50,000.00+ easily! Time will correct this injustice. Once this coin is sold, we doubt you’ll see another full GEM for years.
