Virtually perfect fields have extraordinary mirrors. They are remarkably clear, clean (there is a planchet bubble hidden above the head) , and have bold reflectivity. A gorgeous ORIGINAL multi hued mix of gold/green/mint red/amber swirls all over. Every detail is frosty and sharply struck. The eye appeal is fantastic!
ONLY 700 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 34, NGC 39, CAC 4. Last year a CAC coin sold for $1,092.00 Stacks 11/2010. Until recently, this coin was off the market since 1904-when they were purchased raw from the Chapman Brothers! If you do not love this coin, NO 1874 will ever please you!
