While we are not big steel Lincoln fans, we do buy these when they are exceptional. This coin is more then exceptional! Outrageously clean and smooth surfaces can be seen all over. If you use a glass, you will see some light die polishing lines behind the neck. That leads us to believe this is possibly a very early striking. The surfaces do appear silky smooth. Understand,the rest of the coin is FLAWLESS. Both sides are a screaming steel white ORIGINAL color. There are zero discolorations or spots. Lincoln’s portrait has a needle sharp strike.
