$2.5 1843-D SMALL D PCGS AU58+

It has to be a very special coin for us to buy anything less then MS63. This is an absolute GEM AU58+ and we love the fact its a D Mint! Outstanding surfaces are pretty clean overall. Only with a strong glass can yous e a few tiny ticks. There is a surprising amount of  original luster (this coin has never been dipped) beaming from all over. There is also a good layer of “original skin”.  In fact, you can actually see hints of semi-prooflike mirrors when you twirl the coin. Both sides are a GEM original yellow gold color. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck (for a D Mint). The eye appeal is totally fantastic! PCGS 22, NGC 18, CAC 8.  This is the only AU58+ graded anywhere. This coin last sold in auction 09/2017 for $5,520.00.  We can not stress enough how really nice this piece is.  Better gold like this is drastically UNDERValued in our opinion.
