We rarely see this date in true choice MS or better. This coin is VERY high end and really could have +!
Only a light and scattered line or two keeps this coin from grading MS65. You need a glass to find the lines (there are some light striations-which are die polishing lines). Overall, the surfaces are smooth and have a satiny texture. Besides a strong luster, there are traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. Both sides are a beautiful deep ORIGINAL yellow gold color. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 11, NGC 17, CAC 3. PCGS has graded only ONE coin higher-an MS65. The last one of these to sell in major public auction brought $3,738.00 12/10 Heritage. yet again, opportunity knocks loud!
