Even though Childs is not a really famous name, the collection he assembled ranks as one of the greatest collections ever. It had coins like the $1 1804 PCGS PR68!  Most important: ALL the Childs coins were purchased directly from the Mint!!! So as expected the quality of this coin is VERY HIGH END!

Deep and glittering mirrors beam from all over. The mirrors are super clean and exhibit strong clarity. When you twirl the coin, you get a light “watery” roll. The mirrors are also evenly toned in an original deep orange with light violet highlights splashed around. For sure this coin has never been messed with. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and have strong thick frost. The eye appeal is tremendous!

ONLY 88 were minted. PCGS 5, NGC 5, CAC 3. There are NO auction records for any PCGS CAC coin ever selling. The current PCGS CAC Value is $51,400.00. It is important to note: we placed this coin back in 2012 with a collector. He is now selling due to retirement.

For sure this is a superior coin for a “box of 20” or a Type Set! Proof Gold is and will forever be the “caviar” of numismatics.
