We definitely do not see many of these big coins from the 1850’s that are nice. When we find them like this, we buy them!
Typical to series, this coin does have some light and scattered ticks. The surfaces are not bad at all and do have a slight satiny texture. Some light toning is spread around. Miss Liberty and the details do not exhibit any discolorations from rub. In fact, they are nicely struck. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 20, NGC 49, CAC 5. The last one of these to sell in major auction was a NON CAC piece. It brought $3,163.00 08/2011 Stacks. This coin is a world of difference! And that auction was TWO years ago.
