Hard for us to believe in all our years of handling gold like this, this is only the second 1895-S in MS64 we have owned. The wait was worth it. We love this coin!
Overall, this coin has super clean surfaces. On the left obverse there is a light scrape/line.Only with a strong glass can you find light scattered ticks. Remember, this is a big gold coin. A full booming luster bellows from all over. Both sides are a beautiful original yellow gold color. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and are lightly frosted. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 238, NGC 173, CAC 34. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $3,600.00 06/2018. Obviously our coin is not.
You can’t pick a better time to buy gold now that the price has retreated a bit.
