This is a really outstanding GEM PLUS coin! Only a few trivial frost breaks keep this from being an MS67 (for which there is a WHOLESALE sightUNSEEN BID of $50,000.00). We would NEVER buy a coin like this if did not agree fully with its grade.
Even using a strong glass you will find very few ticks of any size hidden any where on the coin. A decent luster (for the date) makes the even deeper gold color stand out. There is a little patch of reddish gold in the right obverse. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have extremely sharp strikes. The eye appeal of this GEM is terrific!
PCGS 13, NGC 10, CAC 16 (regular MS66’s). The auction record for a MS66+ is $9,200.00 06/11 Heritage. Considering an CAC MS67 has a sightUNSEEN BID of $50,000.00, these seem like a very decent value.
