We handpicked this coin from a major gold dealers “PQ” box. He claims to have tried it a few times for an MS65. We agree with its current grade.
This is definitely NOT your typical 1923. It has surfaces that are way superior to most that you will ever see. There are VERY few even tiny ticks. The texture is semi satiny. No question this coin has never been dipped or messed with. The color is a deep gold. There are NO spots. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have remarkable sharp strikes. The eye appeal is really nice!
PCGS 33, NGC 20, CAC 68 (in MS64 regular-which has 5600 coins between PCGS and NGC). CAC is extremely tough on how its grades these (which is why they have beaned only 8 MS65’s out of 526 graded between PCGS and NGC). The last PCGS/CAC piece to sell in major auction brought $2,585.00 09/2012 Heritage. A PCGS/CAC MS65 would cost you at least $10,000.00-if you can even find one!
