25C 1831 SMALL LETTERS PCGS MS65
$23,500.00
Housed in an older green tag holder, this coin has not been cracked recently (as so many have) to strip it of its intense ORIGINALITY.
You can tell this coin must have sat totally undisturbed for all of its 180 year old life. To the naked eye, this coin is clean. When using a strong glass all you can see are some very minor tiny ticks. A booming luster shows off the pretty ‘old time” colors of olive/rose/golden brown/gold that are evenly spread over both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 15, NGC 0, CAC 2. The last one of these to sell in a major public auction brought $18,400.00 (a non CAC) 08/2010 Heritage. Prior to that, they were bringing $24,000-$29,000.00 in 2004-2008.
We can not stress enough the great rarity of ANY Bust 25C in PCGS MS65-let alone one that’s CAC’d.
