25C 1854 W/A PCGS MS66
A long time collector customer of Legend Numismatics purchased this coin out of our 09/2018 auction for $24,675.00. Hard to believe , but he replaced it with the 25C 1855 W/A PCGS MS67 CAC. Now, this outstanding coin is back on the market.
Here was the description from our auction:
A beautiful Premium GEM of this short lived type. Exceptionally radiant mint luster glows on the ultra smooth and clean surfaces. The luster really does gleam from all over. The razor sharp devices stand out against the cleanliness of the fields. Both sides show a delicate and totally iridescent tone with shades of pale silver, lilac, gold and olive-tan toning. The eye appeal is spectacular and very high end.
PCGS 9, NGC 3, CAC 4. The most recent example to sell realized $33,600 in April 2018–indeed that was the only CAC MS66 to ever sell in auction. Note: the current PCGS CAC value is $34,500.00. The stunning eye appeal of this GEM will entice any type or quarter collector, and vault it to a very strong price.
We would further like to add, this date is very hard to find in true GEM-and nice looking (like this). A final note, this coin has a really cool die crack on the obverse through all the stars on the right. It reminds us this coin is 165 years old!
