25C 1881 PCGS PR68+ CAMEO NEWMAN COLLECTION

$49,500.00

The introduction to this coin is really simple: this coin one of the VERY best (if not THE best) Proof W/M Liberty 25C that exists! Only the Mega Monster 1861 Proof from the Newman Collection is better (in our opinion). Yes, we do rank this piece as “gods gift to Proof Seated Quarters”. We have only seen a handful of coin that even comes close to this coins unbelievable iridescent colors and quality-in our 40+ years careers! Unbelievable mirrors beam wildly from all over. The mirrors are the epitome of clarity, cleanliness, and are intensely reflective. When you twirl this piece it looks like a freshly formed bed of ice.  Mother Nature wanted this coin to be her finest work EVER (well except for that monster 1861). Electric circles of original azure blue/green/violet/lime/tangerine open into creamy white centers. The best fireworks display on the 4th of July does not even come close to these explosive colors. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frost and have full strikes. The eye appeal is beyond any Proof Liberty Quarter you will EVER see (again, save for the insane 1861). PCGS 0, NGC 2, CAC 1. PCGS has graded only this coin PR68+ Cameo. This coin originally sold in Newman (in an NGC holder) for $44,063.00 11/2013. This is a coin so crazy and so above and beyond everything else the rick of paying too high a premium is actually minimal. PCGS showed this coin no mercy. If it had been in a PR69 Cameo holder, we would still love it every bit as much. This is clearly a once in a life time Proof Quarter! The only reason why this coin is for sale-the owner purchased a major collection he had wanted forever. NOTHING can replace or even challenge this coin! Even if you do not collect Proof Quarters, this is so wild of a coin it belongs in any GEM plus collection. Now this is a Legend quality coin! NOTE: The 25C 1861 PR68 piece we’re talking about originally brought an insane $188,000.00. It was later re auctioned for $129,000.00 and is now in the #1 Simpson Collection. The 1881 we are offering here was not caught up in the same bidding frenzy.
