25C 1882 PCGS PR68 CAMEO NEWMAN-YOUNG

$22,000.00

This is a MONSTER! The superlatives and adjectives needed to suitably describe the amazing state of preservation and eye appeal cannot easily be put on paper. Truly this coin is proof that a picture is worth 1,000 words!

Here are five to start off: THE FINEST PCGS GRADED EXAMPLE!

The highly reflective mirrored fields are the epitome of perfection. They are pristine with a deepness and clarity rarely seen on anything but the most modern Proof issues. Utilizing a strong glass, anything seen on the fields are in the planchet, part of the minting process and have no effect on the grade or eye appeal. Both sides offer a stunning array of totally original purple, royal blue, aquamarine, and rose-gold swirl around vibrant silver in the centers. Not only is the quality of the surfaces and visual allure beyond compare, but you cannot beat the pedigree! From the Eric Newman Collection, where its was sold in November 2013, lot 33389. Gene Gardner purchased it out of the Newman sale, and it sold in the Gardner sale, May 2015, lot 98393.

Only 1100 Proofs were struck. PCGS 1, NGC 3, CAC 4. This coin accounts for one of the NGC examples, as well, so the true Populations are likely PCGS 1, NGC 2, CAC 2. Prior to it selling for $20,562.50 on 10/2019, in its only other most recent appearance, this MONSTER brought $19,388 in October 2016. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $20,000, and with NONE FINER, anyone building the FINEST set of Proof Seated Liberty quarters needs this 1882!
