We inspected this coin over and over, its a REAL PR 68 cameo by anyone’s harsh standards. It looks like some one picked this coin up from the Mint in 1897 and just laid it somewhere until recently. Pretty amazing for that to possibly happen over 115 years!
The mirrors are super deep, have crystal clear clarity (that means they are not milky), have NO imperfections anywhere of any size, and have strong reflectivity. A moderate mix of pewter/russet/pale blue totally ORIGINAL colors swirl all over. Miss Liberty and the details look like they have been carved out by the sharpest knife. Of course they are heavily frosted. The eye appeal is sensational!
Only 731 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 0, NGC 7, CAC 2. The last NGC PR68 Cameo to sell in major auction brought $9,775.00 4/11 Heritage. Had this been a PCGS coin, it would have sold for $10,000.00+. Here, you get the same coin, at a lesser price. Opportunity can’t knock any harder!
