We grade this coin PR64.8+++! It is that HIGH END and colorful!
Deep mirrors beam effortlessly from all over. Sparkling clarity coupled with intense cleanliness make this coin really special. Intense and totally original tangerine, purple and gold toning accent both ides. The contrast is bold. If not for one mark on Liberty’s chin noted under magnification, this coin could easily grade PR65 if not finer. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have thick frost. This coin is total eye candy for sure!
Only 543 Proofs were struck. PCGS 13, NGC 2, CAC 2. Interestingly, the most recent sales data is all from 2014, six years ago, where in February a coin sold for $1,058, another sold for $969 in March and a final example for $951 in October. Collectors Universe price guide shows this coin at $1,200 and we feel this coin is worthy of all that and then some! Seeing is believing!
