2C 1864 LG MOTTO PCGS MS66+ BN

WOW! This is one of the FINEST Large Motto 1864 2 cent pieces graded in the BN category. It is a real borderline MS67 BN. We are in awe of this piece!

Remarkable surfaces are really perfect. That is amazing. Plus, for a coin in that classification (66+BN), the surfaces have a ton of retained original RED hidden in the devices. This is NOT your typical dull brown coin. Only using a strong glass can you find one tiny toning dot.  Every thing is totally original. A surprising luster beams boldly from all over.  The eye appeal is phenomenal!

PCGS 22, NGC 35, CAC 17. PCGS has graded only 2 in 66+ BN and a single 67 BN graded finer. The 67 BN sold in the 2018 ANA auction for $7,200. The current  prices guides make this coin too cheap. We bought it at a price we felt was way too cheap. Think about this the coin is 156 years old, it is pristine, it is copper, it has a pop of only 2,  and it is a Civil War era coin. We think it should be worth several thousand. Bought it a big dip in the market.  Hopefully time will grow the value.
