2C 1872 PCGS PR66RD

$8,250.00

As you all may know, GH is extra picky on what he likes-especially with copper. We can tell you, he adores this SUPERB GEM Proof. This HIGH END piece. Deep mirrors beam from all over. The mirrors offer extreme clarity, cleanliness, and of course a bold reflection. If you twirl the coin, the mirrors resemble a freshly made sheet of glass.  Both sides are a GEM original Mint Red color. Only with a strong glass can you find a few pinpoint toning dots. Every detail is sharply struck and has light frost. To quote GH “this is the way these are supposed to look”.  The eye appeal is beautiful! ONLY 950 were minted. PCGS 14, NGC 6, CAC 4. The last 1872 PCGS PR66 RD CAC to sell in auction brought $8,225.00 05/2012-and the same amount in our October auction. (this is NOT that coin). Prior to that, they traded for $11-$13,000.00 for many years. These have been unfairly spanked by the market. This is a series that you actually can build a complete set of for UNDER $75,000.00 in PR65/66 RD. You should consider it with the prices being too cheap. Dirty little secret: the principal of Legend just but herself a PR66 RB set (no 64 SM DT yet). We really believe in these! WE HAVE POSTED THIS COIN AT OUR BEST PRICE
