$3 1880 PCGS MS66+ POGUE
Full deep prooflike mirrors rival those on any proof (these occur because the mintage is so tiny). There are NO imperfections visible. Even when using a strong glass you will find NO problems anywhere. Both sides are covered by a wild swirling mix of totally original reddish orange/deep yellow gold colors. Mother nature did an amazing job! There are NO discolorations or spots. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and have gorgeous thick frost. The eye appeal is sensational in EVERY respect! ONLY 1000 were ever minted. PCGS 2, NGC 4, CAC 1. PCGS has possibly graded 2 MS66+’s (although we strongly believe this coin is both). There are NONE higher. This coin sold for $35,250.00 in Pogue. If you do your research, you will find that is an absolute steal relative to its rarity, quality, and what other similar coins bring in other GOLD series. Again, it may not matter to some, but we had been prepared to pay $45,000.00 HAMMER for this coin. Know that the last REGULAR MS66 to sell in auction was a PCGS MS66 NO CAC. That brought $58,750.00 in 01/2014. This coin represents an exceptional value hands down! Opportunity could not knock any louder for any kind of gold collector! We are very surprised this coin is still with us. It needs a great home. We can’t stress enough how CHEAP it sold for. The new owner is getting not only a MONSTER of a coin, but one at a VERY cheap price!
