3CS 1871 PCGS MS66

Clearly an MS coin, this piece has an awesome cameo-something you do not even see on 1871 Proofs!

Boldly prooflike mirrors do reveal a hint of satiny texture on the surfaces. Other than some raised die lines (mint made), there are zero problems. A gorgeous mix of purple/violet/blue/gold colors shimmer about the peripheries and spectacularly open into the centers. A blast snowy white star on the obverse really gives this coin jaw dropping eye appeal. All of the details are needle sharp in strike. This coin is far superior to most others we have seen for the date (remember, we have spent 16+ years building the #1 Law MS 3CS Collection-so we know what does and does not exist).

Only 3400 were ever minted. PCGS 15, NGC 35. PCGS has graded 11 higher.

In our opinion, you can add GEM MS better date 3CS to the list of ridiculously cheap coins. You’ll never see any quantity of them available.
