$5 1800 PCGS AU55 BD-3

We call this piece a GEM AU because it is so nice! For a 216 year old worn coin, the quality sure is superb. Nearly pristine surfaces only offer a microscopic tick or two if you use a strong glass. A light luster is still there. Both sides are a gorgeous deeper and totally original gold/pale reddish gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. All wear is light and is even. Miss Liberty and the details are really sharply struck. The eye appeal is fantastic! PCGS 55, NGC 31, CAC 20. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell brought $11,750.00 01/2015 in a weaker sale. Even a PCGS NON CAC sold for $10,575.00 07/2015. When you can find one as nice as this, these become highly sought after. We would guess that almost HALF the survivors for the date have been messed with.  This coinis a perfect example of buying TRUE quality for the grade.
