We were surprised to see this is only the second MS 1800 $5 we have ever owned. The first was an MS64 we bought and sold back in 2005. Either we felt the prices were too high or we didn’t like the quality of what we saw available.
This coin was a “no brainer” for us to buy. There actually appears to be a little cameo contrast. Both sides have a few tiny ticks scattered about-but nothing big that detracts. The luster is intense and there is actually traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. There are NO discolorations or spots. Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is terrific!
Take our word on this, when it comes to Early Gold, CAC does NOT just sticker any coin. They are extremely strict as this is area is their specialty.
PCGS 12, NGC 24 CAC 7. PCGS has graded only 6 in MS64 and one MS66 higher. The last one to sell in major public auction brought $37,600.00 01/2017-in a famously weaker market. We are pleased to present this coin to our loyal customers for consideration.
