$5 1806 ROUND 6 7X6 PCGS MS64+ CORONET CABINET

This coin is absolutely AMAZING and is the BEST MS64+ imaginable. PCGS showed it no mercy. We’d bet that before 3rd party certification existed, this coin was labeled GEM MS65. As we all know, today’s standards are pretty tough. This is one heck of a coin!

It is the strong opinion of this cataloger that this coin in the old days (prior to certification) would have been designated a full MS65+++. Even as an MS64+ we rank it an MS64.9+!

Everything about this coin is full GEM quality. The only thing we can see keeping this coin back from a full MS65 designation are some light adjustment marks on the reverse. The surfaces are as pristine as we have ever seen for the Type. Forget a glass, you can use the most powerful microscope on earth and you will find NO impairments anywhere. The surfaces have a stunning satiny texture. The luster is strong and glows from all over. Both sides are a SUPERB GEM original yellow gold color. There are NO discolorations or spots anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck and are really frosty. The eye appeal is totally mega WOW!

PCGS 40, NGC 19, CAC 20. PCGS has graded only 5 in MS64+. We disagree fully with the published prices when discussing this coin. Remember, this coin is that close to an MS65 and should be valued that way. In 2014 this coin sold for $70,500. The current Collectors Universe Value for an MS65 is $130,000. If you are the pickiest buyer, this coin will make you more than satisfied! We can not imagine how this coin survived 214 years in such an unreal state of preservation. Seeing is believing!
