We are extremely picky about early gold-especially $5 pieces. We loved this coin at first sight. Deeper inspection only endeared it to us even more!
Remarkably clean and smooth surfaces have only a teenie scattered tick or two. They do emit a light luster. There are NO spots or stains. The color is a beautiful totally ORIGINAL yellow gold. Miss Liberty and the details show little wear and are well struck. They are also frosted. The eye appeal is fabulous!
PCGS 29, NGC 19, CAC 4. The last one of these to appear in major auction was a NON CAC piece that sold for $8,625.00 in Stacks 2009! These coins are not available nice as often as the pops might make you think. This coin is also housed in an older green tag holder.
