$5 1809/8 PCGS AU58

We unhesitatingly call this coin a GEM AU. For an Early $5 it is clearly above average. Overall, the surfaces are clean and smooth. Only with a strong glass can you detect the faintest of ticks and a few light scattered lines (and we do mean faint). A minimal luster can be seen. Incredibly, this coin does still have its “original” skin (meaning it has never been dipped or messed with. Both sides are a deeper totally original yellow gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations on the high points. The eye appeal is fantastic! PCGS 33, NGC 33, CAC 14. Here is a startling fact: the ONLY example to sell in auction for a AU58 PCGS CAC piece, was sold back in 01/2010 for $10,100.00.  That is EIGHT forever ago years! We were stunned by that fact. PCGS CAC Early gold is impossible to find. We do not expect a coin like this to remain so low in price much longer (no hype, try and find another)!
