BD-1, R-3+. Slightly scarcer than the Small 5 variety. We fully consider this coin a totally original GEM XF!
This lovely coin has great peripheral orange-gold and violet toning. Only and even wear can be seen (no discolorations on high points). This coin has a bold strike and accents of glossy luster clings to the protected areas. A few teeny old ticks will always serve to identify this lovely coin. The eye appeal is SUPERB!
PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 3. NGC does not make a distinction on their report. The last XF45 to sell in auction was in January 2011, where one sold for $6,900. We purchased this coin out of our 12/2017 sale for $8,519.00. ALL the published prices for a coin like this are wrong. Until this piece surfaces, NONE had traded in auction in OVER 7 years! That is a forever ago heck of along time! Think about when was the last time you saw an GEM XF or even AU of this date offered? We sure don’t remember any recently.
