$5 1814/3 PCGS MS64

$63,500.00

Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer this excellent and top notch example of a 1814/3 $5.00. We grade the coin a MS64.6. Overall, the surfaces are problem free. It is interesting that we can see a few frost breaks. If you use a strong glass, you can actually see some die clashing (mint made). In fact you can easily see the reverse shield on the obverse. There is a surprising strong luster that glows from all over. Both sides are a superb and totally original frosty deep yellow gold color. We must note the is one grease dot at *;00 by the star (it actually is light, images bring things like this out). Miss Liberty and the details  are thickly frosted and are sharply struck. The eye appeal is superb! PCGS 3, NGC 8, CAC 3. PCGS has graded only coin higher-a MS64+. That is powerful proof as to how this date does NOT come. The last PCGS CAC MS64 to sell in auction brought $56,400.00 in 2016. The current Collectors Universe value is $70,000.00. Even a PCGS CAC MS63 sold for $51,750.00 back in 2011 (that was the only CAC sold in MS63 in auction). A rarity like this is just a victim of circumstance in he market. We won’t make any promises, but we do very much regard the potential of this piece to be as high s you can get!
