$5 1839 PCGS AU53

This coin is so nice and so SUPER HIGH END, our eyes actually deceived us. At first glance we though it was an AU58. Really. Can’t tell why it is not at least an AU55.

To the naked eye the coins surfaces look super clean and smooth. With a strong glass you will see some ticks and a few old cuts. There is nothing serious. Surprisingly there are traces of light prooflike mirrors around the devices. The luster is actually decent. Both sides are a totally original deep gold/pale pinkish gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are extremely well struck and show practically no wear. The eye appeal is totally wonderful!

PCGS 16, NGC 27, CAC 2. No surprise here: NO PCGS CAC AU53 has ever sold in auction. We can NOT stress enough how really RARE this date is in a NON MESSED WITH AU condition. For the entire date grading 1-64, CAC has only beaned 28 coins. THAT HELPS PROVE THE RARITY! This is a great coin for a picky quality buyer.
