$5 1840 PCGS AU55 NO CAC SS CENTRAL AMERICA

$3,550.00

When we had a chance to buy a big group of the SS Central America coins and saw a few non hoard pieces we grabbed all we could. As creepy as it sounds this was not on the log of what was bring transported. That meant it either belong to the crew of a passenger. We doubt there are many other $5 1840’s (if any) from the ship. Like the others, this coin was conserved. The obverse looms great. The reverse has some apparent crustiness that could not be fully removed (which to us makes it neater). Overall, the surfaces are pretty clean. There even is some light original luster that can be seen. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and exhibit only light even wear. The eye appeal is pretty cool. PCGS 1. Obviously you can’t go by any price guides for the coin. yes, there is a treasure ship factor built in, but when you have a near unique coin from a popular sunken ship, that value does in deed last (as proven by the Bro Jo’s and he earlier 1857S coins. This coin is housed in the big customer holder that includes a pinch of gold flakes. Folks, this real treasure from a real sunken ship! WE HAVE POSTED THIS TREASURE AT OUR BEST PRICE
