$5 1862 PCGS AU55

$16,500.00

A piece that is one of the highlights of our NEWPS offerings! You sure do not see much of this date offered! We consider this coin to be above average quality. There are some light ticks scattered about-but they are NOT deep and they really not fully visible to the naked eye. A very light hint of ORIGINAL luster can be seen. The color is a deeper gold that blends with pale copper gold by the rims. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are extremely well struck. The eye appeal is excellent! ONLY 4,430 were minted. PCGS 8, NGC 9, CAC 1. PCGS possibly has graded only 10 coins finer. This is the highest beaned CAC piece for the date! Prior to this coin selling in auction, the last one to sell in auction was a PCGS NON CAC which brought $17,625.00 06/2013 Stacks. Even an NGC brought $14,100.00 01/2014 Heritage (non CAC). If you collect rare gold or love anything Civil War, here is a really nice example of a super rarity!
