Unbeatable quality! Before certification, someone would have called this an MS piece.

Highly lustrous surfaces show a few tiny ticks and light lines. The reverse has some very faint die clashing. There are NO discolorations, visible rub, or stains on the high-points. Both sides are a beautiful deeper yellow gold color. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is very pleasing.

Only 21,198 were minted. PCGS 8, NGC 17. To date, PCGS has graded possibly 2 coins higher (both MS62’s) while NGC has a sole MS61. The last $5 1874CC to sell at public auction brought $22,425.00 06/08 B+M. in 2007 another one sold for $26,450.00 Stacks 10/07 (neither of those figures were for this coin). We feel strongly the owner of the Pickering Creek Collection of CC’s priced this coin more than fair!
