in our career, we have handled one other “wonder” 1795-the ex Flanngan PCGS MS63 CAC (NO +) that we sold in our Regency 18 sale for $176,250.00. Hard to believe, this coin is better-much better!
Our jaws dropped and locked when we first saw this unbelievable coin. It never left our minds. We strongly feel PCGS really showed it NO mercy. We are NOT exaggerating or over hyping this coin one bit. This coin really is BETTER then all other MS63’s (and some MS64’s)!
Remarkable surfaces are devoid of scuffs or hits. You need to use a strong glass to see a few widely scattered lines. In our opinion (or imagination) this coin actually is semi-prooflike. The luster is unbroken and beams boldly from all over (something you NEVER see on a 1795 coin). Both sides have developed gorgeous original toning. Here is the wild part: EVERY DETAIL IS FULLY STRUCK! You do not need a glass to see any details. You can clearly see all of the eagles feathers on the reverse as well as its head. The eye appeal is out of this world!
THIS IS A MEGA MONSTER COIN!
PCGS 7, NGC 9, CAC 2. PCGS has possibly graded 3 in MS63+ (we doubt it). This coin has NOT been on the market for many years. We assure you, it is BETTER then a few of the MS64’s we have seen. The Flannagan coin comes close, but it is NOT equal to this beast! We have not been able to put this MONSTER coin away!
