We think an old small HIDDEN cut is all that keeps this con from being a full GEM MS65. We do rank this coin as ULTRA high end.
Overall, the surfaces are quite impressive and are ultra clean. They do have a slightly satiny smooth look. A good luster shows off the original mix of golden brown/pale russet and blue rims on the obverse. The reverse is silvery white and gold. No question this coin was never messed with. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is gorgeous!
PCGS 96, NGC 6, CAC 21. PCGS has graded 7 in MS64+. The last one to sell was a NON CAC. That coin sold for $4,406.00 back in 1/2013. If this coin had been in our Regency 17 sale, it probably would have brought OVER $5,000.00 (see the Bust Half Prices realized: www.legendauctions.com).
