This date does not get the respect it deserves. This coin has some of the best mirrors we have ever seen for a 1909 Proof. We consider it not only VERY HIGH E ND but a borderline DCameo.
Deep mirrors beam intensely from all over. The mirrors are crystal clear and are clean. When you twirl the coin the mirrors roll like liquid mercury. The contrast is bold. Both sides are untoned. Miss Liberty and every detail are needle sharp in strike and are loaded with frost. The eye appeal is intense!
Only 650 were minted. PCGS 11, NGC 11, CAC 2. There has not been a PCGS CAC sold since 2016. That coin brought $5,175.00 08/2016. It is out strong opinion, this coin is too cheap today. Time will add the value it so deserves.
