This might seem strange, we have not handled or owned an 1866 since 2014. Prior to that, we go back to 2010. Finding really nice pieces like this is not easy!
Strong mirrors beam from all over. The mirrors are clean overall, have good clarity, and are highly reflective. Only with a strong glass and some effort can you find a few dirt spots (this piece is clean over all). A light glaze of original nickel/faint champagne colors swirl all over. All of the details are fully struck and do offer strong frost. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 84, NGC 60, CAC 11. The last one to sell in auction brought $2,880.00 01/2018. We think at these levels to be able to buy a true 152 year old GEM, is a great value!
