What a tremendous SUPERB GEM 1885 Proof 5C. We’ve never seen one so perfect!
Strong mirrors beam boldly from all over. The mirrors are also clean and clear. When you twirl the coin, you see a sheet of freshly formed ice. A delicate but clearly visible mix of totally ORIGINAL pastel colors of violet/lime/gold/baby blue swirl mostly around the coins peripheries. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have light frost. The eye appeal is gorgeous!
PCGS 24, NGC 20, CAC 18. PCGS has graded 5 coins PR67+ and 3 in PR68 (of which 2 are CAC). The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $6,169.00 10/2019. If you are building a set with some color-or collect the best dates, then this coin is a must see!
