G $1 1861 PCGS MS67

$25,000.00

We are truly amazed at how this 158 year old tiny coins survived so long (even past the Civil war period) in such a remarkable state of preservation! This coin is absolute a GH fav too.

Simply immaculate surfaces offer nothing but mint made light clash marks. Even using a strong glass you are more then impressed. The surfaces have a strong satiny smooth texture. A surprising bold unbroken beams boldly from all over. The obverse has a deeper shade of gold (possibly light natural toning from sitting on felt for a long time) while the reverse is a lighter gold color. There are NO discolorations or spots. Miss Liberty and every detail are pinpoint sharp in strike and have delicate frost. The eye appeal is remarkable!

PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 3. There is an MS67+ graded and nothing higher. It is critical to note: the last PCGS MS67 (NO CAC) Sold for $16,675.00 11/2010!  NINE years and none have surfaced at any auction-that is a remarkable stat!  All published prices are (in our opinion) a joke. Even in MS66 (PCGS pop 7) NONE have ever been sold via auction. The rarity of this coin is unmistakable!

If you collect Civil War coins or great GEM gold, this is a one shot and gone coin. It has every thing going for it!
